Rirkrit Tiravanija – Contemplative Contemporary

Rirkrit Tiravanija is well known for his conceptual pieces which focus more on the idea than the object itself. For instance, in his exhibition “Pad Thai 1990” we see him serve traditional Thai food and drink as a part of his show encouraging social interaction between people. The smell of cooking and feeding the public are two vital elements for his installations.

Susan Chen’s Portraits of Asian Americans and Art News of the Week 17 – 23 August

Ai Weiwei released CoroNation on August 21, a documentary that shows the closure that began in January in the Chinese city of Wuhan. Monet’s Impression, Sunrise will be on display at the Shanghai Unique Art Museum from September 17th to January 3rd, 2021. Art Basel will open two online viewing rooms during the coming European autumn. Susan Chen’s Portraits of Asian Americans make their entries in the Meredith Rosen Gallery in New York. Janine Antoni develops her artistic activity through installations and performances. She has a personal, unique and radical style, which differs significantly from the other usual proposals of the artistic scene. Born in the Bahamas on January 19, 1964, she earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1989.
